Jill Martin is a sideline reporter for MSG Network’s New York Knicks telecasts, contributing to pre- and post-game shows, as well as hosting “Live from Celebrity Row,” a 60-second rapid-fire interview with celebrities sitting courtside, during halftime of games at The World’s Most Famous Arena. She joined MSG Network in 2007.
In 2009, Martin won two New York Emmy Awards with MSG Network and continues to focus her time on Madison Square Garden’s "Garden of Dreams Foundation."
Martin is also a fashion expert and co-author of the New York Times bestselling style guide "I Have Nothing to Wear!" and "Fashion for Dummies." She is the New York correspondent for “Access Hollywood” and a contributor on NBC's “TODAY” show, known for her popular “Ambush Makeover” and "Steals and Deals" segments.
On “TODAY,” Martin discusses everything from the latest trends to how to shop on a budget. She has co-hosted the fourth hour of “TODAY” with Kathie-Lee Gifford & Hoda Kotb and has reported from The Emmys, Golden Globes and Oscars.
Prior to joining MSG Network, Martin spent five years as a Sports Anchor/Reporter for CBS-4 (WFOR) in Miami. She reported and anchored the 6pm and 11pm newscasts and contributed to the pre- and post-games of the Dolphins broadcasts. She also covered the Marlins World Series victory in 2003 and was there for every step of the excitement when the Miami Heat won the NBA championship in 2006. While at CBS, Martin was honored with an Emmy nomination for a story she did with Dolphins Linebacker Junior Seau. Her exclusives include a week-long series with Shaquille O’Neal leading up to the 2006 Finals and a one-on-one interview with Miami Hurricanes star running back Willis McGahee when he decided to go pro.
Martin began her career as an assistant at “The Maury Povich Show” after interning at “LIVE! with Regis and Kathie Lee” and “Geraldo.” With experience with production under her designer belt, she soon began her broadcasting career in 1999. As the host of WAMI-TV’s “Live,” Martin reported on entertainment happenings in the Miami area, conducting celebrity interviews and covering special events. Following her time with “Live,” Martin spent a short time as a Hamptons reporter for News 12 Long Island, reporting on the entertainment scene and writing a corresponding feature for Dan’s Hamptons highlighting the summer’s must-haves.
From News 12, Martin landed a role as a fashion correspondent with “Good Morning America” on ABC where she highlighted the hottest fashion trends. After a year with ABC, Martin spent two years with the Miami Heat, sharing her passion for hoops as she hosted live broadcasts during timeouts and halftime, conducted fan and celebrity interviews, and established in-depth reports on the players’ lives off the court.
Martin graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in communications.
